Research (The Educational Adequacy of New Jersey Public School Facilities: Results From a Survey of Principals)

For this study, researchers surveyed New Jersey principals and found that roughly one-third of respondents gave the overall condition of their building a grade of C or lower. What's more, principals often noted that facility conditions are crucial to teacher retention, but most feel they have less control over facilities than they do in directing academic leadership, human resources, and other components of their job.
